There are many ski resorts near the hotel.
Both experts and those with no experience can enjoy winter sports like skiing and snowboarding at the numerous ski resorts.
You can reach each ski resorts by foot or by a free shuttle bus.
Ski equipment and wear rentals are available here at Yuzawa Hotel. Lockers and dryer room are also available. Please ask at the front desk. (The rental process will go smoother if you would let us know your size in advance.)

GALA Yuzawa is in Echigo-Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture, about 200 km north of Tokyo. You can enjoy skiing and snowboarding from an elevation of 1,181 meters to 358 meters. When it snows, it's powder snow.
A free shuttle bus runs between Yuzawa Toei Hotel and GALA Yuzawa ski resort from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., making it easy to get there and back. (See the shuttle bus time schedule.)
GALA Yuzawa is the only ski resort in the world whose ski center is connected directly to a high-speed train station. You can get to Gala-Yuzawa Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen bullet train (Max Tanigawa or Tanigawa) in 75 minutes from Tokyo Station.
You can ski in the Central Area that has mainly flat runs, the Northern Area for more active skiiers, and the steeper Southern Area using the natural terrain for skiers who like powder snow and moguls.
You can also go to other ski resorts. From the Southern Area, you can take the ropeway to Yuzawa Kogen Ski Grounds.

It is a ski slope for beginners, located in front of the hotel. There is Nunoba Snow Land in the ski resort outside the hotel, where you can play in the snow in various ways with your children. You can enjoy with a huge snow tube, sled, and slide, and also all kinds of items to play with the snow are available. There is a snow escalator, so you can easily go up the slope.

The NASPA Ski Garden can be reached by a free shuttle bus.
